Alert: Wayland Firefighters Aren't Fundraising
If you get a call, hang up. It's a scam.

If you get a call from someone claiming to be raising funds for the Wayland Fire Department and the Wayland Firefighters, be advised that it is not legitimate.
The Wayland FD announced that it is not conducting any kind of fundraising efforts and is not endorsing any of the agencies making these calls.
“The Wayland Fire Department has received several phone calls from residents inquiring if we are doing or endorsing any fund raising efforts over the phone,” the FD stated on its Facebook page. “It has been reported that the callers may be referencing that they are Firefighters and seem to be very aggressive in their efforts to raise funds.”

Several years ago the Police and Fire Associations stopped all efforts to raise funds via telephone solicitation. Currently the Wayland Police and Fire Associations only do fund raising via direct mail.
“We want to make it clear to all residents and business owners that these phone calls are not in any way related to the Wayland Fire Department or Wayland Firefighters and that none of the towns Firefighters are in anyway connected with these fund raising groups.”
