WAYLAND, MA — A patient was flown to a Boston-area trauma center Sunday after suffering serious injuries in a fall, according to the Wayland Fire Department.
Firefighters and paramedics responded Sunday morning to a report of a patient who had fallen and quickly determined the patient needed advanced care. Crews stabilized the patient, then transported them to the Town Hall field, where Boston MedFlight took over care.
The patient was flown by medical helicopter to a Boston-area trauma center for further treatment, according to the department.
Wayland fire officials said the response involved firefighters, paramedics, dispatchers, police and regional health care partners.
The department thanked Boston MedFlight and the Wayland Police Department for their assistance during the incident.
Wayland officials have not yet released any information on the patient's status.
