WAYLAND, MA — Wayland Public Schools ranked among the best school districts in the Bay State, according to a new list.
Wayland Public Schools was named the No. 10 best school district in Massachusetts on the 2027 Best School Districts in America list, recently released by the education ranking service Niche.
Niche gave WPS an A+ grade overall, including an A+ in academics, teachers and college prep. It earned an A in administration and an A- in clubs and activities, as well as a B- in diversity.
This comes as Wayland High School was ranked No. 20 in the state in Niche's 2027 Best Schools and Districts in America rankings. Located at 264 Old Connecticut Path, the school serves about 800 students in grades nine through 12 and has a student-teacher ratio of approximately 11-to-1. WHS offers courses in English, social studies, mathematics, science, world languages, wellness and the fine and performing arts, along with a broad range of electives.
The top-ranked school district in the state was Dover-Sherborn. You can find a complete list of the top 25 here.
Niche's rankings combine federal and state data, school statistics, and over 3 million reviews from students, parents, and teachers to evaluate schools beyond test scores.
This year, Niche updated its methodology and created separate public and private rankings for categories including arts, diversity, college prep and teachers. It also introduced school-type-specific methodologies for boarding schools and private online high schools.
"Families deserve a complete view of their options, whether they're evaluating schools in their area or exploring what's available elsewhere," Niche founder and CEO Luke Skurman said in a news release.
