WAYLAND, MA — Wayland residents will have an opportunity this month to weigh in before town officials set the fiscal year 2027 property tax rate.
The Select Board will hold a public hearing at 7:15 p.m. Monday, Nov. 16, at the Wayland Town Building, 41 Cochituate Road, with remote access available through Zoom.
The Board of Assessors will present data on the proposed tax rate and its effects on different property classifications. Town officials involved in preparing Wayland's tax recapitulation submission to the Massachusetts Department of Revenue will also answer questions before public comment begins.
The Select Board is expected to decide whether to maintain a uniform rate for residential, commercial and industrial properties. Members will also consider an open space discount and residential or small commercial exemptions for fiscal year 2027.
The Zoom link will be posted on the town's public meeting webpage on the day of the hearing. Residents who cannot attend may submit written comments before Nov. 16 by emailing sbmembers@wayland.ma.us or mailing them to the Select Board at 41 Cochituate Rd.
