Anton Cleaners Participates in Coats for Kids

You can donate your gently used or new coats right here in town, for a good cause.

The 20th annual Coats for Kids drive takes place Oct. 13 through Jan. 10.

Gently worn warm winter coats can be dropped off at any Anton’s Cleaners or Jordan’s Furniture. The coats given to “anyone who needs a coat.” Each fall, Anton’s, which is located at 81 Andrew Road in Wayland, distributes more than 60,000 coats for kids and adults.

According to the Coats for Kids site, nearly 90 social service agencies make sure the coats get to those in need, free of charge. Since the program’s conception in 1995, nearly 800,000 coats have been collected and distributed.

The coats are distributed through partners such as the Middlesex Human Service Agency, Taunton State Hospital and Harbour House Family Shelter.
