John and Molly Beard of Wayland achieved their long-time goal to conserve their Hazelbrook Lane property.

The couple gave a conservation restriction (CR) to Sudbury Valley Trustees and the town of Wayland, reported the Sudbury Valley Trustees on their website.

This restriction was recorded on Dec. 23 and covers more than ten acres of land near the Trustees’ Hazel Brook Conservation Area. The Beards will retain ownership, and will manage, the land, but it’ll be protected from development.

This land, said SVTs, “is long and narrow and includes frontage on Stone’s Pond, through which Hazel Brook flows before eventually emptying into the Sudbury River.”
