Boys Basketball Falls Just Short in North Final

No. 2 seed Danvers escaped a late Wayland push to eliminate the locals by a 57-52 margin in the North Division 3 final at Lowell's Tsongas Center.

A stellar Wayland High School boys basketball season came to a close on Saturday on the hardwood of Lowell's Tsongas Center.

The No. 4 Warriors erased a double digit Danvers lead and trailed by just one point late, but the Falcons used a late push to seal a 57-52 win.

"We've been a second half team," said Wayland head coach Dennis Doherty. "But against a team like Danvers that is that skilled and talented, we need to play better in the first half. Coming back was a very difficult."
