Coach Grill Employee Tests Positive For Coronavirus

The popular Wayland restaurant reopened in July as cases in Wayland fell.

WAYLAND, MA — At least one employee at the Coach Grill restaurant in Wayland has tested positive for coronavirus, but health officials say no patrons were exposed.

The case was confirmed on Thursday, and health officials began a contact-tracing process to find out who the employee came in contact with. The restaurant also underwent a deep cleaning, Wayland health officials said.

The Coach Grill — and other restaurants in town — reopened in late July with new coronavirus safety precautions in place.

Overall, cases in Wayland are at the lowest level among communities across the state. There was only one active case in town as of the last update on Oct. 9. Wayland has had 122 cases over the course of the pandemic, and 19 people have died of the virus.

A little more than half of the 122 cases were in people who either live or work in a long-term care facility in Wayland.
