Concord Area Humanists Invite you to a discussion and dialogue entitled βConcord Prison Outreachβ.Β The special speaker will be Mark Fingerle.Β 7 p.m.Β Wednesday, May 7 at First Parish Hall, 20 Lexington Rd, Concord MA
The United States prisons are bursting at the seams with more of its citizens in prison than any other country.Β Two million are in prison and every year over 600,000 leave to enter a society that seems to shun and reject them.Β Huge barriers exist in finding jobs, money and housing.Β Because of this, recidivism rates are off-the-charts.Β Expenses cost billions of dollars each year.Β However, things can be done to help β even here in Concord, Mass,
Mark says, βIt is my privilege to be Chairman of the Board of a wonderful organization called βConcord Prison Outreachβ.Β This is the largest organization of its kind in the Northeast, sending volunteer teachers into the prisons to help heal, inspire, guide and teach our fellow countrymen such that they may be able to reach their dreams eventually and to lead a happy and productive life.β
