Could Sudbury River Levels Cause Flooding In Wayland?

WAYLAND, MA—Excessive rain over the past 24 hours has led to a rise in the water levels of local rivers, including the Sudbury River.

The Wayland Police Department has been in contact with the M.W.R.A. regarding future water releases into the Sudbury River in Framingham, it announced.

According to M.W.R.A, water releases tend to have an effect on the level of the Sudbury River in Wayland.

"It is anticipated that there will be two modest releases of water over the weekend that are not expected to cause an increase in the river levels in Wayland," said police. "The M.W.R.A. has stated that the river has crested and the water level is expected to diminish as we go through a period of dry weather.”
