Crash on Main in Wayland Sends One to Hospital with Serious Injuries
A two-car crash resulted in one being transported to Framingham Union Hospital, closing Route 27.

One person is in the hospital with serious injuries after a car crash on Main Street in Wayland Wednesday morning.
At approximately 9:50 a.m., Wayland Police responded to a car accident that occurred on Main Street (Route 27) near the intersection of King Street. A nearly head-on crash had occurred in the southbound lane of Main Street involving a 1998 Toyota Corolla and a 2004 Chevrolet C65 box truck, said police.
The driver, and sole occupant, of the Corolla sustained serious injuries and was transported by Wayland Fire Department to Framingham Union Hospital. The operator, and sole occupant, of the truck was not injured.

Route 27 has been closed to traffic since the accident occurred as an investigation is conducted by Wayland Police and the Massachusetts State Police Traffic Crash Reconstruction Team.
