• Focus on the Fun!
• Remember, there was more time off this winter and a later start to season. Do not stress if your game takes a few rounds to come back.
• It is easy to get distracted after 1 or 2 bad shots. Try to get back on track by enjoying your company and the course. Then, get back to basics: focus on a good grip, get your swing under control, be nice and balanced, and then watch that good shot get back down the fairway.
• One of the things I always talk to my players about is having a good set up when you are getting ready to hit the shot, and to base everything on the target. I also ask my players to finish nice and balanced, looking down the fairway at your perfect shot.
• Enjoy the game! Golf does not need to be a technical sport. Any course can be demanding if you want a super challenge, but it can also be pleasurable if you are just looking to enjoy a few holes with your family

As Partner of The Preserve, Lisa Nickerson oversees the project’s sales, marketing and communication initiatives. She also is the founder of Nickerson PR and Nickerson RE, and specializes in real estate and architecture, engineering and construction (A/E/C) industries. Lisa is a long-standing Board Member of Housing Families Inc., the Communications Chair on the Board of SIOR New England Chapter, Inc., a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) Women’s Initiative Steering Committee and ULI’s Programs Committee, as well as an active member in many other national organizations.
