Why: Longfellow's Wayside Innβa nationally significant historic landmarkβis an old Inn and tavern that has been serving travelers along the old Boston Post Road for almost 300 years. What began as an extension of David Howe's family home in 1716, the Inn has thrived through years of growth and expansion and survived because of its important history and beautiful setting.
A portion of the proceeds from the show will be donated to The Wayside Inn Historic Site, the 501(c)3 not-for-profit corporation that oversees the sprawling 122-acre campus. The grounds include Longfellowβs Wayside Inn, The Gristmill, the Schoolhouse, and the Martha-Mary Chapel, along with many scenic walking trails connecting the buildings. Β Funds raised will be used for upkeep of the grounds and buildings and for informational and educational purposes.
Admission to the preview party on Friday, May 13, is $150 at the door or $125 with advance registration. TheΒ regular show dates, Saturday, May 14, and Sunday, May 15, carry a $10 at the door admission.
