Children through eighth grade are invited to bring their own gear and bait to Mill Pond from 8 a.m.-10 a.m. Saturday, May 12 to fish in the Annual Wayland Youth Fishing Derby.
It's free to fish, but concessions will be for sale and funds from their sale will be donated to the Vernon Cancer Center at Newton Wellesley Hospital.
The event is on rain or shine. As the flier states, "The fish don't care if it rains."
