Wayland Cultural Council will hold a community input meeting in conjunction with the Arts/Wayland artists reception on Sunday, May 15 in the Raytheon Room at the Library. Community input surveys will also be available at the Town Building and at the Circulation desk. Please tell us what you think.
Since local cultural council members are responsible for distributing public dollars, councils need to solicit and collect local public opinion about how to best distribute funds. Most councils receive more requests than can be funded, and strong guidelines based on public feedback can help guide grant making decisions. Knowledge of resources (what's already happening in the community), interests (what the community values) and needs (who/what is not adequately served) can help councils make difficult decisions and encourage community-responsive proposals.
