Wayland and Weston residents are invited to the towns’ hospitality tent in the Head of the Charles Regatta’s popular Reunion Village. Look for tent #2 in the Village, on the Storrow Drive (Boston) end of the Weeks Bridge by Harvard Business School. Rain or shine, the tent offers a convivial meet-up spot and a superb vantage point at the regatta’s half-way mark, featuring live announcers and stroke-by-stroke race commentary. It will be open 10—4 Saturday and 10—4 Sunday, hosted by Wayland-Weston Crew. Complementary light snacks and beverages will be served. The Village dining tent nearby offers a selection of prepared foods, soft drinks, juices, wine and beer at reasonable prices. Admission to Reunion Village is $3 per person, $5 for two.

This year marks the 47th running of the fall classic, the world’s largest two-day rowing regatta. It draws every year to the banks of the Charles River in Cambridge and Boston some 300,00 fans who cheer on 8,000 competitors from 15 countries in 55 events over a grueling and treacherous 3-mile course that twists upstream from Boston University’s DeWolfe Boathouse to the finish near the WBZ building on Soldiers Field Road.
