
Free, fun, family-friendly events will take place on and along the Sudbury, Assabet and Concord Rivers all weekend. Local organizations in 11 towns are hosting events, including bird-watching, canoe trips, picnics, wild animal displays, boat tours, art, music, history lectures and more. Complete event listing.
In Wayland: On Saturday from 9 am - noon, Brian Donahue, expert on the history of the Sudbury River, will lead a history paddle from the Route 20 boat launch to Sherman’s Bridge with frequent stops along the way to hear fascinating stories. On Sunday, you can join the Wayland team and compete against Acton, Concord, and Sudbury in the 1st Annual Water Chestnut Pullathon to help reduce this invasive plant population from our rivers.
