Holiday Art Show Reception
Arts Wayland Foundation's second annual Holiday Art Show is currently on display in the Raytheon Room. The show features works by local artists and is open during Library hours. Original paintings, collages, photographs, mixed media works, and prints in a wide variety of styles and materials are 4” x 14” or smaller. There will be a reception with refreshments on Sunday, December 9 at 2:30 p.m.
Author Talk: The Guide to Walden Pond
Award-winning journalist, scientist, and professor Robert Thorson explores the history, nature, landscape, and literature of one of America's most iconic places. Monday, December 10 at 7:30 p.m.

Brain-Healthy Cooking Demo
Kim Smith, Corporate Director of Culinary & Dining Experience at Traditions of Wayland will speak on the benefits of Brain-Healthy Cooking and give a cooking demonstration on Tuesday, December 11 at 1 p.m.

Author Talk: The Return of the Moguls
Will the return of old-style individual ownership spark a renaissance in the newspaper business? Inclusive Playgroup: Stories, Songs, and Sign
This interactive, inclusive music and literacy group is for young children at all levels of communication and ability. Facilitated by Beverly Mobilia of Wayland Community Partnerships for Children and Families. For ages newborn to 3 years. Wednesday, Dec. 19, 11:15-12p.m.
Sing-along with Jeannie Mack
Jeannie Mack will perform all kinds of fun, bounce-around, sing-along songs for young children. Plenty of opportunity for audience participation. For babies, toddlers, and preschoolers with caregiver. Thursday, December 6, 10:30-11:15 a.m.
Brain Building Storytime
Storytime, parachute play, and brain building activity. Program led by Beverly Mobilia of Wayland Community Partnerships for Children and Families. For ages 2 to 5, with parent/caregiver. Wednesday, December 12, 11:15a.m.-12:00p.m.
Storytime with Corbyn the Dog
Children will listen to dog stories and have a chance to visit with Corbyn, a Samoyed.
Corbyn (with her owner Helen) has been certified as a therapy dog by Pets and People Foundation. For ages 3 and up. Thursday, December 13, 10:30 a.m.

Lego Club
Create with Legos. This month’s theme is Build a Lego town. For ages 5 and up. Wednesday, December 5, 3:00-4:00p.m.
What’s Our Story?: Bakers
A reading of picture book biographies about two bakers: Hanson Gregory, who invented the doughnut, and Christopher Ludwick, a patriot with a talent for baking gingerbread. Children will learn about the bakers, make sock doughnuts, and decorate freshly baked gingerbread cookies. Program led by librarian Elise Katz. For children in grades 1 to 3, with caregiver. Wednesday, December 12, 3:30-4:30 p.m.
Drop-in Holiday and Solstice Crafts
Make festive holiday and solstice crafts.

FOR FAMILIES
Chari-Tea Family Concert
Enjoy a concert, taste teas, and enjoy cookies, at this event in support of Cradles to Crayons. Sharon of Metronome Music Studio in Framingham and her students will play holiday tunes and family favorites on stringed instruments. Mary from Vermarje Tea Co. will be giving tea tastings. There will be apple juice for kids. Donations of new underwear and socks for babies to 12 are welcome. Tea will also be available for sale after the concert. For all ages. Saturday, December 15, 3:00 - 4:00pm
