Cookies for College Students
Good Shepherd Youth Ministry is continuing this great tradition of sending care packages to the for- mer youth of our parish that are now away from home at college or in the military. Packages will be prepared and sent out on Monday, November 9th from 6:00-8:00 pm in the St. Zepherin Center. You can help with this great tradition in three important ways:
· High schoolers and middle schoolers: come to help put the packages together. This is a great way to do something for your older friends in the parish. We look forward to seeing you there!
· Parents and friends of college students: Send us the name and addresses of college students and other former youth of our parish. Please follow the link on our website to fill out the form.
· Parents of high schoolers and middle schoolers: come and help chaperone! We’d love to have your help!
· Donations: We welcome financial donations to help defray the cost of shipping (send checks to the parish with memo: Cookies for College Stu- dents) at any time. Other donations, including small and lightweight treats (candy, tea, inspira- tional quotes, pens, etc.) or a bag of your favor- ite cookie batter or cookies can be brought on the day of the event.

NPH Mexico
Our Good Shepherd Parish community understands the importance of a college education. Life is very competitive and education is the key to success! With a university degree, a person can acquire the necessary skills to obtain employment
in hopes to one day provide for their future. This is particularly true of the NPH
pequeños who rely on education to break them from the cycle of poverty.
For the 2015 Pequeño Tour, Good Shepherd Parish would like to raise funds to cover the costs of some of our NPH Mexico children who are striving to obtain their university degrees! Help us reach our goal for this year’s tour.
To support this great cause you may attend the Fiesta Dinner on Sunday, October 25th at 6:00PM at the St. Zepherin Center or donate online at www.nphusa.org/goodshepherd.
Summer Service Trip 2016
Want to have an amazing experience next summer? Good Shepherd is going to Pittsburgh, PA to serve as part of a Catholic Heart Work Camp, a national organization that organizes service programs and helps young people connect to their faith. We’ll spend a week serving those in need while meeting young people from across the country. High school and middle school aged youth (from 7th grade up) are invited to come. If you’re interested or want to learn more, email Tom Jackson (tjackson@goodshepherdwayland.org)
Your Help is Needed in Passing on the Faith
We are still in need of a catechist to teach our
first grade class in our
Sunday morning religious education classes.
The class meets two times per month
from October through April.
Training and easy to follow teacher texts are provided.
Please contact Sue Muldoon @ smuldoon@goodshepherdwayland.org
We are also in need of
Middle School classroom assistants.
These classes meet Tuesday or Wednesday evenings
2-3 evenings a month
from October to March (6:30pm-8pm).
Classes will be led by a catechist with material and activities, just being a prayerful presence
and an extra adult is what we are looking for.
Please contact Kelly McPherson @ kmcpherson@goodshepherdwayland.org
You do not need to have
a child in the program to help out!
