Boston Sock Exchange
DONATIONS: Your generosity of NEW OR GENTLY USED CLOTHING makes a huge difference in the lives of the homeless. If you’d rather give a monetary donation so that we may buy items in bulk, envelopes marked “Boston Sock Exchange” are at the main en- trances of the churches. Please make checks payable to “Good Shepherd Parish” with “Boston Sock Ex- change” on the memo line and on the front of the en- velope. Envelopes may be dropped in the collection basket at Mass or into the blue bins. Clothing and water donations also go into the blue bins.
The MOST NEEDED ITEMS for our November trip are:
• New or gently used jeans for men (especially waist sizes 32-36) and women (size 6 and up)
• New men’s t-shirts, briefs or boxers (M-2X) and women’s new briefs (5-7)
• New or gently used long-sleeve shirts (S-2X)
• New men’s crew socks (white or dark colors)
• New or gently used hooded sweatshirts and warm jackets (sizes M-3X)
• Bottled water (16 oz. bottles)
• Backpacks and tote bags
For further information, please contact Paula Mor- gan, dpsmorgan@mac.com. Our next trip to Boston will be on Saturday, November 7th.
Cookies for College Students
Good Shepherd Youth Ministry is continuing this great tradition of sending care packages to the for- mer youth of our parish that are now away from home at college or in the military. Packages will be prepared and sent out on Monday, November 9th from 6:00-8:00 pm in the St. Zepherin Center. You can help with this great tradition in three important ways:
· High schoolers and middle schoolers: come to help put the packages together. This is a great way to do something for your older friends in the parish. We look forward to seeing you there!
· Parents and friends of college students: Send us the name and addresses of college students and other former youth of our parish. Please follow the link on our website to fill out the form.
· Parents of high schoolers and middle schoolers: come and help chaperone! We’d love to have your help!
· Donations: We welcome financial donations to help defray the cost of shipping (send checks to the parish with memo: Cookies for College Stu- dents) at any time. Other donations, including small and lightweight treats (candy, tea, inspira- tional quotes, pens, etc.) or a bag of your favor- ite cookie batter or cookies can be brought on the day of the event.
High School Leadership Institute
Our next Leadership Institute meetings are Monday, November 2nd and Tuesday, November 10th. Even if you weren’t able to come to our first meetings, you can still join us! If you want to help out this year’s Confirmation retreat, come to one of these meetings! You’ll also grow as a leader, serve others, and have a lot of fun! More information is available on the website and our Facebook page. Contact Tom Jackson (tjackson@goodshepherdwayland.org) for details.

Summer Service Trip 2016
Want to have an amazing experience next summer? Good Shepherd is going to Pittsburgh, PA to serve as part of a Catholic Heart Work Camp, a national organization that organizes service programs and helps young people connect to their faith. We’ll spend a week serving those in need while meeting young people from across the country. High school and middle school aged youth (from 7th grade up) are invited to come. If you’re interested or want to learn more, email Tom Jackson (tjackson@goodshepherdwayland.org)
