Warmer temperatures and a rainy Thursday should put a dent on the snow in your yard.

Rain is expected to start on Wednesday night with fog possible. On Thursday, rain will be heavy at times with thunderstorms possible.

Rain is expected to end on Friday after dropping about an inch of rain on the area since Wednesday night.

Highs will be in the 50s on Thursday and Friday.

The National Weather Service said the rain and mild temperatures will ”cause significant snowmelt across the region. This combination may cause some area river levels to approach flood stage.”

The NWS said as much as two inches of moisture could be “released from the snowmelt.”
