Hit-and-Run Accident Damages Traffic Signals in Wayland
Police are asking anyone who witnessed the accident the morning of Nov. 21 to contact police.

The traffic jam Monday morning at the intersection of Routes 27 and 30 in Wayland wasn't due to early holiday shopping or last many Thanksgiving errands.
Wayland Police say a hit-and-run driver did "extensive damage to the signals" at the Cochituate Village intersection at about 11:25 a.m. Monday. The damage caused the the signals to go down at the intersection and led to a traffic jam for vehicles on Main Street (Route 27) and Commonwealth Avenue (Route 30).
According to a police press release, "A truck, described as a roll-off dumpster, maroon or reddish brown in color" struck the signals at the intersection. The driver left the scene without stopping.
