Important Hearing on Lake Cochituate

Dear Friends,
Please join us for an important hearing on Lake Cochituate this Thursday, March 20, 7:40 pm at the Natick Town Hall.  The Natick Conservation Commission will hear from Mass DCR (Department of Conservation and Recreation) on its proposed treatment plan for Lake Cochituate, in particular Fisk, Middle and South Ponds. Among others, the Lake Cochituate Watershed Council  (<lakecochituate.com>) for the past few years has been working to build a coalition of stakeholders and citizens to take a strong interest in the Lake (and its watershed), and commit to programs that will ultimately heal our Lake (currently on the EPA's 303d list, most impaired water body).  We are making progress, but we need more grassroots support to encourage powerful state organizations such as MassDOT, DCR, and the Legislature, plus the municipalities and their Conservation Commissions to build effective strategies and funding to achieve these goals.  That's why we need your help and participation.  We hope to see you there Thursday evening, (3/20), Natick Town Hall, 7:40 pm.  Thanks, Pat Conaway, for LCWC
