Internationally Renowned Wangechi Mutu Free Public Artist Talk May 14 in Beverly
Artist and activist Wangechi Mutu will be giving a free public artist talk on Thursday, May 14, 6 pm at The Cabot Theatre in Beverly.

The public is invited to a Montserrat College of Art sponsored free lecture by Wangechi Mutu, an internationally renowned, Kenyan-born, New York-based artist and activist who has been called the most influential African artist today. She will present a lecture on Thursday, May 14 at 6 p.m. at The Cabot, 286 Cabot Street, Beverly. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. montserrat.edu/galleries/Wangechi-Mutu.php

Wangechi Mutu is also the keynote commencement speaker and honorary doctoral recipient at Montserrat College of Artβs graduation ceremonies this spring.

Mutu is the recipient of the United States Artist Grant (2014), the Brooklyn Museumβs Artist of the Year Award (2013), and was honored as Deutsche Bankβs first Artist of the Year (2010). She received an MFA from Yale and BFA from Cooper Union. She will be just returning to the US from her appearance at the Venice Biennale. See Mutuβs work at wangechimutu.com
