Last Chance: Fires Out and Taxes Due

Here's a look at a few deadlines this week that we don't think you'll want to miss. If you know of a deadline that we didn't list here, please share it in the comments below.

• The fourth, quarterly property tax payment of the fiscal year is due May 1. This is the final bill at the current rate. The Wayland treasurer/collector accepts online tax payments from its website.
• The Open Burning season ends Tuesday, May 1. If you have a permit and have plans to do some burning, get to it today or tomorrow.
• The deadline is May 5 to register for the Wayland Baseball and Softball Association Instructional League for kids in kindgergarten and first grade. According to the WBSA website, only 18 spots remain.
