Please Support Wayland Library's ATM Warrant Articles (17, 18 & 19).

3 Articles at Wayland's ATM need support so the Town can take advantage of an exciting state library construction grant opportunity.

Three articles will help the Library move forward with the Library Planning and Design Study that Town Meeting voted resoundingly (378-49) to approve last fall. The purpose of the study is to investigate several different ways to expand the Library. To meet the requirements of the State's application process, the Library needs to study two sites: the existing library site at 5 Concord Road and a second site (to be determined).

Articles 17 and 18 will allow the study’s architect to investigate two Town-owned parcels as possible sites for a new Library: (1) the former DPW garage site on Main Street along with the adjoining lot on the other side of the Middle School driveway and (2) 202 Old Connecticut Path, a portion of the former Paine Estate that is currently undeveloped.

Article 19 will allow the current library building to be connected to the municipal wastewater system. A sewer hookup would allow the Library to remove its aging septic system, freeing up land on which the Library could expand at its current location.

Passage of these articles will give the Trustees flexibility in planning for the Library’s future. You can get more information about the articles at the Library website:
