The Local Fails Underage Drinking Police Sting
The Wayland Police Department conducts regular alcohol compliance checks. The Local is facing a violation.

WAYLAND, MA—A Wayland club is facing a violation after two underaged people were sold alcohol during an undercover compliance check.
On Friday, Oct. 21, the Wayland Police Department conducted undercover alcohol compliance checks of local businesses and establishments that sell alcohol. Two individuals, aged 18 and 20, were sent into establishments and instructed to attempt to purchase alcohol without showing any identification.
The Local, at 1 Andrew Ave., was the one establishment of the 16 that were checked that sold alcohol to the underage individuals. The Local is being referred to the Board of Selectmen for a violation hearing in the near future.

The Wayland Police Department regularly conducts both alcohol and cigarette compliance checks at local businesses in an effort to reduce the underage consumption of alcohol and tobacco products.
