Mahoney's "Trees for Troops" Campaign is Here
Donate a Christmas Tree to a Military Family Through Mahoney's.

Members of the Military and their families make many sacrifices, especially during the holidays. Make this holiday season a little brighter by sending military troops and their families a Christmas tree through the Trees for Troops® program.
Now until December 7, visit any Mahoney’s Garden Centers location to send your support by purchasing a Trees for Troops tree for $30. Special tree cards are available to write a note of thanks or holiday wishes to the family. Donations can also be made online through their website www.MahoneysGarden.com or simply call the Mahoney’s Trees for Troops hotline at (781) 721-4691.
“Now in its 10th year, this program has become a deeply rooted holiday tradition for Mahoney’s and the surrounding communities,” says Peter Mahoney of Mahoney’s Garden Center. “Each year we hear wonderful stories from those who donate, and it truly touches our hearts to be a part of this program.” According to Mahoney, Mahoney’s donated 2,281 trees last year.

The program touches many lives. The simple gesture of buying a tree means much more to a military family who faces incredible challenges each day.
A previous recipient, quoted on the Trees for Troops web site, said, “This Christmas will be a bitter sweet one, because I am deploying within days after Christmas, however this tree has made it very special because we have never had a real tree. It is so perfect, and the kids really enjoyed decorating it. Thanks for the great memory!”

The event ends December 7, when Mahoney’s will collect all of the notes, cut the special six-to-eight foot sheared Balsam Fir trees fresh from their farm in Nova Scotia, and prepare them for their journey. The Trees for Troops program, in coordination with FedEx, handles the rest. In December, thousands of trees from all over the United States will be delivered to troops and families on over 65 military bases, worldwide.
This year, Mahoney’s trees will be shipped to military bases in the northeast region, locally including the Coast Guard Station Chatham.
Mahoney’s Garden Centers will also contribute an additional $5 for every tree sold to the Christmas SPIRIT foundation.
Visit any one of Mahoney’s eight Massachusetts locations in Winchester, Chelmsford, Tewksbury, Falmouth, Brighton, Osterville, Concord and Wayland, visit www.MahoneysGarden.com, or call (781) 721-4691, now until December 7, to donate a tree to the Trees for Troops program.
Trees come from Mahoney’s-own tree farm in Nova Scotia. They are carefully nurtured and sheared for best shape and density, then cut at the very last moment to ensure the longest lasting tree. For more information visit www.mahoneysgarden.com or call (781) 729-5900.
