MetroWest Women’s Alliance Announces Art Competition for High School Girls

Girls in grades 9-12 in the MetroWest area all invited to submit up to two pieces of artwork, that represent what makes them a strong young woman.

In an effort to engage young women in the community, the MetroWest Women's Alliance is launching its First Art Competition for all girls in grades 9-12 in the MetroWest community. All participants are asked to submit up to two pieces of artwork that represent what makes them strong young women.

All entries will be judged by a panel of judges. The winning entry will be featured on the cover of its Signature Event Program and the winning artist will receive a $100 gift certificate. Other submissions will be chosen as finalists and will be framed and auctioned at its Signature Event in September.

All proceeds from the sale of this auction will become part of the Alliance’s mini-grant fund which is given to nonprofits in the area for the support of women and girls.

In an effort to celebrate every participant’s artistic efforts and philanthropic contribution, the MetroWest Women’s Alliance has partnered with the Danforth Museum to host an event on June 18 to present all of the participants with certificates and to unveil the finalists as well as the winning entry.
