Mini-Grants Available for Community Service, The Arts and Violence Prevention Projects

The Lauren Dunne Astley Memorial Fund offers a new program to fund three areas.

As announced on its website, following last year’s success, The Lauren Dunne Astley Memorial Fund is offering an exciting program to fund projects in three areas: effective teen relationships and violence prevention, the arts and community service.

“In Lauren’s spirit and memory, small grants are now available for individuals and groups with dynamic project ideas in any of the above areas. Keep On Sparkling!”

The online application must be completed by Jan. 31, and the amount requested cannot be more than $2,000.

Astley died on July 3, 2011, murdered by her former boyfriend Nathaniel Fujita, who was found guilty and serving a life sentence. She was a lifelong resident of Wayland and graduated from Wayland High School in 2011.
