National Prescription Take Back Day is Oct. 29

On Saturday, Oct. 29, the will participate in the “Prescription Drug Take Back Day” sponsored by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency. A Wayland police officer will be on hand from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. to process drugs that are turned in by the public at the Wayland Public Safety Building.
Anyone can anonymously drop off prescription drugs at the Wayland Public Safety Building for proper disposal during the four-hour time period established by the Drug Enforcement Agency. Last year, during the four hour period, nearly 200 members of the public turned in 175 pounds of prescription drugs.
These drugs were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Agency for proper disposal.
