New Cafe, Event Space Nears Opening In Wayland

A brand-new cafe, retail shop and event venue are set to debut in Wayland next month.

WAYLAND, MA — A new cafe, retail shop and event venue is nearing its debut in Wayland.

Terrain from URBN, the brand best known for Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie and Free People, is set to open at Wayland Village next month. The space at 297 Boston Post Rd. is also booking events for August 2026 and beyond, with its first hosted event set for late August, the company said.

It is located at the former Whole Foods Plaza on Boston Post Road. The space includes Terrain Cafe, Terrain’s garden, home and outdoor lifestyle brand, and more than 8,700 square feet of indoor event space.

"The event business started 13 years ago, and I really think that elongates the story and the life cycle for our customer even more," said Brianna Alcorn, Director of Sales and Marketing at Terrain, told Patch back in December. "It becomes a place where they get to celebrate some of life's most special moments."

The event venue can accommodate up to 178 guests for weddings and up to 250 guests for corporate events. The venue will include indoor ceremony and reception space, an indoor cocktail area with a built-in bar, in-house catering, beverage service, planning support and private suites.

The location in Wayland will be Terrain's fifth event space, with others in Pennsylvania.
