New Cell Tower Proposed For Wayland, Some Neighbors Opposed
Some neighbors have expressed opposition should a cell tower be erected near their neighborhood.

WAYLAND, MA—At the Board of Selectmen meeting on Tuesday, an update from the town engineer was presented regarding a possible new cell tower to be erected on town-controlled land.
According to the letter, Verizon has requested that Wayland officials consider siting cell tower(s) to improve cellular service in specific areas of town. The town engineer will be putting the information into a report that includes a list of potential town controlled lands that could be cell tower locations, as well as input from other town governmental bodies.
The report, said the update, will be issued pending the receipt of information from Verizon. The Board was advised last week by a resident of the Oak Hill Neighborhood Association that a petition was circulated in the
neighborhood to oppose a cell tower in south Wayland. The Zoning Board of Appeals has not received an application for a cell tower.
