Obituary: Arrangements for Nancy Elliott Daughnan Morell, Longtime Nanny

'Nancy loved to be with children and was happiest when she was taking care of them. She was also an avid gardener and doglover.'

Nancy Elliott Daughnan Morell, formerly of Sudbury and Framingham, died February 5, 2015 in Newton, MA after a brief illness. She was born September 16, 1938 and was the daughter of Reverend G. Ross and Charlotte Morrell. Her brother Peter Morrell died in 1964. Nancy grew up in Ansonia, CT and attended the Day School, Quinnipiac College and Lasell College.

She lived in Sudbury and Framingham, MA for many years and most recently at New Horizons in Marlborough, MA. She worked as a secretary at Raytheon, and later enjoyed being a nanny for several families in Wayland, Weston and Sudbury. Nancy loved to be with children of all ages and was happiest when she was taking care of them. She was also an avid gardener and dog-lover.

She leaves behind daughter Dianne Bladon and her husband John of Wayland, MA; son Stephen Hodgetts and his wife Marietta of Sudbury, MA; and daughter Amy Covington and her husband Jason of Bluffton, SC. Nancy lost her other daughter, Linda Goddard, in 2010. She also leaves behind twelve beloved grandchildren, to whom she was a devoted Bama and Grammie. Her annual reunions with her Elliott cousins were the highlight of her year, and she leaves many dear friends from New Horizons. A memorial service will be held at St-Anne’s-in-the-Fields Episcopal Church in Lincoln, MA on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 11:00 am, with a reception afterwards in the parish hall.

Nancy will eventually rest at North Cemetery in Wayland beside her daughter Linda. In lieu of sending flowers, consider supporting the LiveStrong Foundation at www.livestrong.org.
