Official Wayland 2020 Election Results: See Who Won

Loker Elementary is getting new roof; two incumbents keep seats; two new members on School Committee, Board of Selectmen.

WAYLAND, MA — The official results of the Wayland 2020 spring election are in, which means winners have been declared in the election's two competitive races.

In the Board of Selectmen race, incumbent Cherry Karlson was vying to keep her seat while David Watkins and William Steinberg were competing for an open seat. In the School Committee race, incumbent Jeanne Downs was seeking another term, and Christopher Ryan and Amanda Miles were competing for an open slot.

Karlson took her seat, winning an overall majority of the vote total in the Selectmen race. Watkins bested Steinberg by just 73 votes. Downs also won back her seat, but she came in second overall to newcomer Ryan.

Voters decisively approved a ballot question about replacing the leaky roof at Loker Elementary. The total cost will be about $4.3 million, but the state will chip in $1.2 million.
