PD Sent Minors In To 15 Places in Wayland to Try and Buy Alcohol

The police department conducted an undercover sting that hit 15 establishments in Wayland.

One establishment in town faces a hearing for selling to minors after the Wayland Police Department conducted an undercover compliance check recently.

On Tuesday, Nov. 25, the PD conducted undercover alcohol compliance checks of local businesses/establishments that have a liquor license. Two 20-year-old individuals were sent into establishments with instructions to attempt to purchase alcohol without showing any identification.

One, of the 15 establishments checked, sold alcohol to the underage youths.

Post Road Liquors, 44 Boston Post Road, failed the compliance check and allowed the underage individual to purchase alcohol, and will face a hearing with the Board of Selectmen for a liquor violation. 

The Wayland Police Department regularly conducts compliance checks at local businesses in an effort to reduce the underage consumption of alcohol.
