The Wayland Fire Department hosted a day-long, multi-town fire training.
WAYLAND, MA — If you saw smoke in the sky on Dec. 20 in Wayland, many firefighters were at it, learning how to even better battle the flames should they arise.
The training was held in a large residential property that was slated for demolition. Numerous mutual aid partners also participated in the training, including Lincoln, Stow, Maynard, Hudson and Framingham.
The training focused on fire extinguishment, search/rescue and other critical firefighting skills.

“This was an extremely valuable training drill as it allowed us to challenge our staff using a large structure similar to the many homes being built in the area," said Fire Chief David Houghton in a statement, "while working with mutual aid partners. We are very fortunate to have had this opportunity.”
