Photos: Owls Visit the Wayland Public Library

Children learned about and "met" some local birds of prey.

Children ooh'ed and aah'ed as Jim Parks of Wingmasters brought out various owls that he has rehabilitated, but will never be capable of living in the wild.

An enormous great horned owl and a tiny saw-whet owl were among the birds of prey Parks presented to a roomful of children on Wednesday afternoon at the .

Parks said he has been rehabilitating the birds for more than 20 years. Even with two decades of experience, he said he constantly learns new information about the animals for which he cares.

He said his primary job is to educate the public about the birds and these public presentations are the best part of his job.
