Police Log: Loose Animals and Demonstrator Drama

(Log for May 1-7, 2012) The following information was supplied by the Wayland Joint Communications Center. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

  • 31 Main Street; May 2, 10:25 a.m. - Report of people with signs sitting in front of the post office. The log reports that parties were gone upon officer's arrival.
  • 115 Boston Post Road; May 2, 3:21 p.m. - Report of a person "screaming at passing vehicles."
  • 277 Boston Post Road; May 2, 3:39 p.m. - Report of a male with a political sign running across the street. (See the Patch article, "Demonstrators Cause a Stir Outside Wayland Post Office.")
  • 41 West Plain Street; May 3, 2:24 a.m. - Found bicycle.
  • 39 Maiden Lane, May 3, 12:38 p.m. - Found bicycle.
  • 48 Clubhouse Lane; May 3, 1:36 p.m. - Caller reported that he was out jogging when he witnessed a male driving next to and arguing with a female who was walking. The caller said the driver got out of the car and "made" the female get in. The driver then drove off. Weston Police were notified.
  • 240 West Plain Street; May 3, 4:55 p.m. - Report of a large black dog running back and forth in traffic. 
  • 141 Plain Road; May 3, 5:21 p.m. - Report of a horse on the loose.
  • 148 Commonwealth Road; May 5, 9:22 a.m. - A woman setting up with a political action committee reported an "issue with a party."
  • 148 Commonwealth Road; May 5, 10:47 a.m. - Caller reported she is "concerned" about a party that confronted their group.
  • 38 Cochtiuate Road; May 5, 7:41 p.m. - Walk-in report of a dog biting another dog.
  • 44 Main Street; May 6, 4:12 p.m. - Report of an intoxicated male who was attempting to drive away. When confronted by numerous individuals, the party drove off on Route 27 into Natick. Natick PD was notified.
  • 171 Commonwealth Road; May 7, 3:12 p.m. - Report of a customer being over served and then beginning to make racial comments and wander into the kitchen. Party was placed in protective custody.
