Problems with Pet Waste

Hi Friends, Looks like we have more work ahead of us at Greenways.  Despite the Strong Signage and a BHLF Unit, we are struggling. Sadly this morning I cleaned up about 25 piles of poop in a 30' radius of the Kiosk filling a 5 gal bucket with snow and pet waste.  I added a "place holder" mutt mitt bag filled with newspaper bags hoping people would use them if they forgot a bag).  We have established similar tools at the Loker Conservation Area where we're having similar problems.  The Trash barrel was only 1/8 full (thanks, Tom, one of my volunteers who empties the barrel and buddy bin on a regular basis).  Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.  Still trying to figure out who's responsible: is it Town ConCom or a hybrid of Wayland ConCom and SVT?  These issues don't seem to be going away.  And Greenways is such a beautiful area.  Can't let it get abused like this.   A little perspective: we're having a tough time in Natick too (where I live) (for some of you who may not know me, I'm Pat Conaway (aka Mr. Con.  Taught at the WMS for 25 years.  I love Wayland -- its kids, families, people, wetlands, trails, woodlands, streams, rivers, etc.)
Shortly thereafter went to Pegan Cove in Natick and discovered several piles (at least a dozen) of dog poop along the trail: another gorgeous area getting rough treatment by irresponsible and miseducated dog folks.  --Pat
