Proposals For Community-Oriented Arts, Humanities And Science Programs: Wayland Cultural Council

The Wayland Cultural Council has set a Monday, Oct. 16, deadline for proposals.

WAYLAND, MA—The Wayland Cultural Council has set a Monday, Oct. 16, deadline for organizations, schools, and individuals to apply for grants that support arts and cultural activities in the community, it said in an announcement. Funding is available for projects and programs planned from July 1 through Dec. 31, 2018.

According to Council chair, Kara Brewton, these grants can support a variety of artistic projects and activities, including exhibits, festivals, short-term artist residencies, or performances, workshops and lectures. Based on a just-completed community-wide survey, the council especially encourages applications focused on community-wide gatherings, nature, science, environmental projects, projects celebrating local history; and projects celebrating cultural diversity, continues the press release.

The Wayland Cultural Council is part of a network of 329 Local Cultural Councils serving all 351 cities and towns in the Commonwealth. The LCC Program is the largest grassroots cultural funding network in the nation, supporting thousands of community-based projects in the arts, sciences and humanities every year.
