Red Flag Warning in Effect for Wayland Today

A widespread area of Massachusetts, including Wayland, will be under a Red Flag Warning again Tuesday as issued by the National Weather Service.

Hot, dry conditions will create critical fire weather conditions. Wind gusts up to 30 mph and relative humidity as low as 15 percent are expected today.

A Red Flag Warning means that open burning will be prohibited today in Wayland.

Residents are reminded to be mindful of cigarette butts and even discarded glass bottles, which can cause brush fires when sunlight shines through them.
