Teenager Fatally Struck by Commuter Rail in Ashland

Police say a male thought to be about 17 was struck and killed by an inbound Worcester Line train late Monday night.

A teenager was fatally struck by a Commuter Rail train in Ashland late Monday night.

The victim was approximately 17 years old, Transit Police said in a statement released early Tuesday morning. He was trespassing on track 2 in the vicinity of the Fountain Street Overpass when struck by an inbound Worcester Line train, police said.

Transit Police received a radio call at approximately 10:20 Monday night about someone possibly being hit by a train at the Commuter Rail stop in Ashland. Transit Police and Ashland Fire and EMS responded.
