Santa Rides Through the Streets of Wayland (on a Firetruck)

Santa's rides continue through Thursday, Dec. 22.

WAYLAND, MA — It's become a tradition in many towns, including Wayland. As if it isn't exciting enough for kids to see a firetruck whiz on by, it's double the punch when Santa's on top of that truck.

Wayland started its annual Santa on the firetruck ride on Tuesday, Dec. 20, and it continues through Thursday, Dec. 21.

On all nights, the ride happens from 5 p.m. until about 8 p.m., and takes different routes each night.

Tuesday, firefighters and Santa took off from the Red Barn at Gray Birch and landed at Highland Circle. On Wednesday, the holiday ride begins at Blossom Lane at Westway Road, heading through at least 10 streets and roads, including Lee, Jeffrey and Wayland Hills, and lands at Dudley Road at Bayfield Road. Thursday, the final night, Santa starts at Winter Street behind the church and winds through several neighborhoods, including Maguire, Edgewood, Russel Road and Anthony Road, landing at Davelin Road at Cole Road.

Here's the full, exact, schedule, so you know when to stand outside with your kids. You can stand outside and wave even if you don't have kids.
