The following information was supplied by the Wayland Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Wayland Police arrested Selectman Joe Nolan Sunday on charges of violating a restraining order.
Police responded to a call on the morning of Sunday, March 4, and following an investigation, charged Nolan with a technical violation of a restraining order that requires him to remain at least 100 yards from one of his three children.
Wayland Police Chief Bob Irving said the department received a call from Nolan's wife alleging that he had violated the restraining order when dropping off one of his children that morning.

Patch obtained a statement from Nolan that states he pulled into a neighbor's driveway to drop off his son following a morning hockey practice and later received a call from police informing him that he "apparently dropped [his son] off too close (within 100 yards) to the home and was in technical violation of an order preventing [him] from doing so."
"For the first and only time in my life, I voluntarily turned myself in to police custody, was charged with a violation and released on my own recognizance," the statement continued.

said there was no attempt on Nolan's part to make contact with the party named in the restraining order, therefore making this a technical violation.
"We were obligated to take action," Irving said, adding that Nolan was "completely understanding and cooperative."
Nolan is next scheduled in Framingham District Court on April 6.
