Selectman Held After Second Restraining Order Violation

Wayland Selectman Joe Nolan was arrested Friday night and charged with a violation of a restraining order. It is his second arrest on such charges in two weeks.

According to a police press release, a complainant called police Friday to report that Nolan had violated a restraining order in place to restrict his contact with one of his three children.

Upon investigation, police determined that Nolan had committed the violation and contacted him. Nolan turned himself in at the police station where he is being held until his Monday court date at Framingham District Court.

On March 9, after dropping off one of his other children at a location that came within the 100-yard boundary established by the restaining order.

Nolan said in a statement following the first violation that "marital discord" had him currently living away from his Wayland home on Maguire Road.
