Teen Arrested For Stealing $30,000 From Safe In Wayland Home

The suspect is an acquaintance of the victim's, according to police.

WAYLAND, MA—On June 19, a Wayland resident reported to the Wayland Police Department that more than $30,000 had been stolen from a safe in his home.

After three weeks investigating, Wayland detectives arrested Wensnoldjy Estime, 18, Main Street, Fitchburg, and charged him with larceny over $250 and breaking into a depository. Estime is an acquaintance of the victim, said police.

On Monday, July 10, Wayland detectives along with detectives from the Fitchburg Police Department executed two search warrants in Fitchburg, seizing evidence of the proceeds of the crime. Estime was located in Fitchburg and placed under arrest, without incident, for the above offenses. He was held at Fitchburg Police Headquarters pending an appearance at Fitchburg District Court.
