On Friday, March 7th, alternative rock and power pop band, The Smithereens, will take the stage at ‘Violet Jam,’ The VERVE Crowne Plaza Natick’s signature ‘Pop & Roll’ concert series. Having toured with timeless musicians Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers during the summer of 2013, band members Pat DiNizio, Dennis Diken, Severo “The Thrilla” Jornacion and Jim Babjek, will perform fan favorite hits such as ‘A Girl Like You,’ ‘Only a Memory,’ and ‘Blues Before and After,’ in front of hundreds of loyal fans who’ve followed their musical careers throughout the 80s and 90s! Well known for taking inspiration from music legends such as The Who, Buddy Holly, The Clash, and Elvis Costello, this cross-generational quartet is often credited with influencing the likes of 90s grunge front man - Kurt Cobain.
