Tournament at Wayland Country Club Raised Money for Kevin's Fund
This 16th annual tournament raised money for the Kevin M. Eidt Memorial Scholarship.

On Sunday, Sept. 28, the Kevin M. Eidt Memorial Scholarship Fund, (Kevin’s Fund), held its 16th annual golf tournament at the Wayland Country Club in Wayland, MA.
Fifty-three golfers participated in the event held annually since 1999. Proceeds from the event benefit the two scholarships in Kevin’s name at Boston College

The first Boston College scholarship is awarded annually to a junior in the Boston College Carroll School of Management Honors Program who has demonstrated the unique combination of academic achievement, character, leadership, and school spirit similar to Kevin’s.
The second Boston College scholarship is awarded annually to the freshman in the Emerging Leader Program whose leadership skills and potential are best represented by Boston College’s philosophies of “Ever to Excel” and being “Men and Women for Others”.

Since 1999 the Wayland golf tournament has raised over $100,000 in support of the Boston College scholarships. Since its inception in 1997 Kevin’s Fund, through all of its fundraising events, has been able to award $1,500,000 in scholarships to 114 recipients who have matriculated at 55 colleges and universities. Of this total, 27 recipients attending Boston College have received over $200.000 in scholarships.

From the Kevin’s Fund website: Kevin’s Fund and the Kevin M. Eidt Scholarship Fund was established in memory of Kevin, an Honors Program computer science major in the Boston College Carroll School of Management class of ‘00, who died of cardiac arrest during an intramural basketball game in his freshman year. The Fund will apply 100% of the proceeds from this event to scholarships for the 2015-16 academic year, and in particular to the Boston College scholarships.

Since its inception in 1997 the Fund has awarded over $1.5 Million in scholarships to 113 young men and women attending institutions such as Amherst, Boston College, Bucknell, Carnegie Mellon, Columbia, Connecticut, Dartmouth, Fairfield, Georgetown, Harvard, Holy Cross, Johns Hopkins, Notre Dame, Rhode Island, Tufts, William & Mary and Wisconsin. There are currently two scholarships in Kevin’s name at Boston College, one for a member of the CSOM Honors Program and another for a member of the Emerging Leader Program.
