WAYLAND, MA — The holiday season will officially begin in Wayland on Saturday with the holiday stroll and tree lighting at the Wayland Town Center development.

The event will begin around 2 p.m., when the Wayland Fire Department will drop Santa and Mrs. Claus off at the green area. Wayland police will follow with the Grinch in tow — and will keep an eye on the troublemaker while Santa visits with kids inside the ACE Wayland store.

During the afternoon hours, businesses at the Wayland Town Center will offer deals and demonstrations. There will be a teddy bear clinic at the ADA Vet, free classes at Boston Sports Clubs and a free Santa golfing experience at X Golf. There will also be a shopping scavenger hunt during the stroll with the chance to win prizes.
